Angie,

We had a good trip with renting a 15 passenger van from Dollar,
camping at the Air Force Academy one night, and staying in the
Travelodge in Raton the next night. We flew to and from Colorado
Springs. I think we paid around $1300 for the van for 10 days. It's
unfortunate that it sat idle for 7 of them, but I could not find a
more cost effective way of doing things.

| Where are you?
|
| We are in Washington state (near Seattle). I am trying to get an
| early start on the planning & training since we live at sea level &
| have concerns about the extremely different climate and altitude at
| Philmont. I've been following the many helpful topics on this
| thread and hope there is more wonderful information out there than
| what is published. I believe Philmont will send a planning guide in
| March. I'm excited and too impatient to wait! Thanks so much,
| Angie Danaher
