Some people may say to put oils on it to darken the leather. I say that is
cheating. Just wear the belt. Let it get its own battle scars and stains
from your life. Then everytime you look at it you can remember what all you
and your belt has been through. Be that Scouting events or any other time
you wear your belt.

I took mine with me on my trek in '94 and had it branded when I got to
Clark's Fork. I then put black sharpie on top of the brand so that it would
be more permanant.

Subject: [Philmont]: belt treatment

I finally got my Philmont belt from the TOT and wondered what is the best
way to treat it for longevity?
