I went with my family to the PTC last August. I recommend it highly. If at
all possible, see if you want to make it a family vacation. You will
undoubtably not have as much fun as the family since you will be hard at
work training but that is why you decided to go is it not. Your family will
love it. I would suggest arriving in the area early and trying to get use
to the higher altitude of Philmont. PTC is on a high plateau. If you want
more info, email me off list.
For alot of good information about Philmont in general and PTC, check out
Seldon's list at http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/philmont.html.
I had to turn down an invitation this year due to the job. Check out the
descriptions of the courses and if you don't like the one recommended, check
with your council, perhaps they will authorize a change.
