I'm not sure if it really works that way. I understood that if you had a trek in 2005 you wouldn't be on the list at all for 2006 but then you would have the same chance as everyone else in 2007, so some troops might still go every other year (if they are lucky) and some might have long waits (if they are unlucky). Did I mis-understand the process?
 
PS: at #289 on the wait list for 2005 not sure there is much hope. In 2002 we were #42 and held by september of 2001.

I know its not much of a consolation, but keep in mind that in subsequent years this process will get better as the groups that got a Trek in 2005 are placed on bottom of list in 2006 behind those who didnt get at Trek. After a couple years you should be able to predict which year you can get one so planning would be easier.
