MessageI would suggest much of the same stated previously.

We put together a "itinerary and crew planning worksheet." Each youth participant (no adults) fill one out. It asks what main features (Baldy, Tooth, both) are wanted, top 5 programs wanted, 3 desired crewmates, and any other "wants," then we use these forms to first build crews around each participants desired crewmates and program choices.

After our crews are put together, we get the previous year's TREKS itinerary book and turn the crews loose with it. Some crews stay true to their original group program desires. Others choose different programs/itineraries based on mileage, area of the Ranch, etc. We have each crew pick their top 5 itineraries from that TREK book (keep in mind it is LAST YEAR'S BOOK - changes may have taken place!), then when the advisors' kits arrive, we check for any changes in listed itineraries. If no changes, we turn in the crew's original 5 requests. If there are changes, we get the crew together ASAP to discuss and make any changes, then turn in their 5 requests.
