Well, it rained on us EVERY day (usually hard for a couple of hours, with
the added benefit of hail several times) on our trek last year in late
July, including a super gully washer on our final night in base camp (we
thanked God we weren't on the trail that night). If that doesn't keep the
fire down, I don't know what will <g>! The decision to be made--would you
rather have high fire danger, or hike in a rainforest akin to the Pacific
Northwest. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground <g>! My suggestion
is to buy raingear like it was monsoon season, and then be pleasantly
surprised if you only have to take it out once per day...... YIS. Mike
