RE: [Philmont]: Airport transportation

As others have mentioned, there are several companies that will provide
transportation services from the three airports (DEN, COS, ABQ) to Philmont.
My bet is that none of these will be particularly cheap. The least
expensive option is probably TNM&O (the Southwestern version of Greyhound) -
I personally have taken it from the Albuquerque Airport to Philmont, though
the timing isn't great (at least not when I made that trip). We left ABQ
sometime in the evening and then we had to spend 4 hours in the dead of the
night at a Loaf N Jug convenience store in Raton to wait for the bus that
went through Cimarron. On the return trip, the bus passes through Cimarron
at around 4am (no layovers on this trip - you're into ABQ by mid-morning).
There is no ticket agent or designated bus stop in Cimarron so you have to
wait along US 64 and practically flag down the driver. Things may have
changed over the last few years (with the schedule that is, there still is
no bus stop in Cimarron), so that might be an option worth looking into.

Another option, though it may be a long-shot, is to check around and see if
you can touch base with a crew that happens to be flying into one of those
airports on the same day and see if the advisor can hitch a ride with them.
There are numerous crews flying in daily, so you might be able to find one
from your council or your local area. Might be worth a shot.

Good luck...
