What, if any, are the responsibilites of the advisors while the crew is in
basecamp? (Besides the supervision of the scouts).

Immediately upon arrival at Base Camp, you will meet your Ranger. Your
Ranger will be the one responsible for guiding you and your crew through the
check-in process, though as the advisor, you still have several
responsibilities:

--Ensuring that the crew roster is completed and turned in
--Meeting with the Registrar to finalize admin. details (money, etc.)
--Working with the crew leader and trip planner in Logistics (let the crew
leader ask the questions!)
--Distributing safekeeping envelopes to the crew, then collecting them and
returning them to the office to be stored in the safe
--Ensuring that medical forms are complete and accurate
--Attending Advisors' Meeting

This is only a partial list of those things that I can remember off the top
of my head and there may be some other minor items that you as the Advisor
may need to take responsibility for. But remember that once your crew
arrives safely at Philmont, your job as the advisor is to sit back and let
the crew leader lead (except, of course, when health and/or safety issues
are involved).
