[Philmont]: RE: Philmont crews

Our troop was awarded 2 treks for 2006 through the regular on line lottery
last month. We have filled both crews with people from our troop. We have
some older guys [16-17-19yrs old] that have been to Philmont before and some
young and smaller guys[14-15 yrs old] and on their first Philmont trek. My
question is will we be able to choose 2 separate treks that we can challenge
the older guys and another trek that will be suited to our less experienced
trekkers?

Answer...

Absolutely. In fact, it is the opposite of your question since each crew
sends back its own trek selection card. In order to be together the two
crews would have to request it (by sending back their trek selections cards
together with the same five choices in the same order).

Almost everything at Philmont is organized on a crew basis. One exception
is that all crews in a contingent must be present at the initial
administrative check-in.
