You can have 1 man tents as long as you have a odd # in the crew for the adults or kids. If the kid is in a 1 man tent on my crew we group him in the middle of the tent area and this way he is not on the outside edge of the tent area. You are right on the Bivi style tents. All tents must look like a tent? What they do not want is the Bear to think the Bivi is a log and try to roll over the log to get the grubs from under it.
