In 04 my son was part of the crew. He had just completed 8th grade but was
13 the day we arrived at base camp. He turned 14 about the time we landed
at Ponil turnaround. No one said a word and we did not hide it of course.
He was easily physically capable of handling the treks so I was unconcerned
about that.

I think that it the past I have seen them let a youth that only has missed
the cut off date by a few months go if a parent is also a member of the
crew, but I am not sure if that is the situation anymore or not.
