Kevin-Casa Bonita is right in my backyard....well, on the other side of
town. What I can tell you is that it hasn't stayed in business for 30+
years without having something to offer <g>!
You go to Casa Bonita for the atmosphere, not the food (well, maybe the
sopapillas). The food is about the same as you get out of a Patio brand
frozen Mexican dinner. If you want good Mexican food, there are probably
200 other places in Denver with better food. But none of them have the
look of a Mexican village at night, including cliff divers, cowboy
shootouts and, did I mention the unlimited sopapillas?.
I, personally, haven't been in 15 years, but I have family who have
recently been. It is the standard place to take visiting relatives from
out-of-town. It's still the same loud place as always. I would classify
it as Scout (and youth) friendly, economical and in a decent neighborhood.
I would suggest you contact them about bringing a large group in, I know
that school groups still go there.... Check out their website at
www.casabonitadenver.com. YIS. Mike ('76, '02, '04 and '07).

My crew arrives in Denver around dinner and I'm thinking
about taking them to Casa Bonita's for one of their last
meals before Phil food ;-).
Have any other units/people been through there recently?
Its been over 20 years for myself and I want to make sure
its scout friendly... (Fun for teens, decent neighborhood,
half way economical, tolerant of noise, etc.) Last time I
went, it was a lot of fun but age tends to fade the bad in
favor of the good...
