Al picked up on my point exactly and confirmed what I was pretty sure was the case. Private vehicles can be left at the turnarounds or perhaps near a few of the camps such as Zastro, Abreu and Ponil, but forget trying to drive yourself to Fish Camp, Crater or Beaubien. Also, while the staff will schedule a mid trek food drop off, I doubt highly that they can assist in moving your group by vehicle from one camp to another mid trek. As i mentioned in an earlier post, the staff this year would not agree to drive to Clear Creek for a food drop off due to the distance and time required. A few years ago, the literature stated that Philmont transportation was only available either at the start or end of the trek, but not both, although they would assist in placing private vehicles at the endpoint. I have seen this stated "rule" bent" however. All for now. Bill Sheehan
