To answer another question posed about Autumn Adventure, keep in mind that some of the larger staffed camps of the summer, which rely upon a pump, water tower and chlorinated water supplies may be dry in the autumn, as may camps relying upon small solar pumps. I know for sure that the towers, pumps and chlorination are NOT operating, as the State of New Mexico requires daily monitoring of these types of systems, which works in the summer, but no kin do in the fall. This is another reason I prefer the South Country, as so many camps are near streams. For instance, Cito has no water in the fall and we were directed to Hunting Lodge (which has a purification system that does not rely upon chlorine)(It also has a creek which avoids the sulphur taste of the running water). I do not know whether the Apache Creek is close enough to supply Beaubien nor what the situation is in the North. Check your map and inquire by phone at Philmont for more info.
