I bought Vasque boots light weight goretex lined - went to hike the next
day to break them in and ended up doing 10miles with no issues of any
kind, got up and did 5 miles the next day again with no issues. 4 other
members of my trek ended up buying them also and have had no issues
after 2 5 mile hikes.

there are a pair of Aslos that are made of synthetic material and are
gortex lined. Lightweight and very durable. they're about 150 dollars
at rei. I don't recall the exact model. I've seen them after 3 years
of pretty solid use and they still look great as well.
