Trail camps are a ready-made situation for some good time alone. Once the camp is setup, I like to take a few steps outside of the immediate camp area, sit back on my crazy creek and enjoy the beauty that surrounds me and reflect on the experiences of Philmont.

Another option if your taking a packs-off break ask the crew to absolutely totally quiet for 5-10 minutes. It's amazing what you can hear and see. Some of the more positive feedbacks I got from the crew were the memoriies they have of when we were focused on listening and observing the Philmont beauty.

Subject: [Philmont]: Alone time

Good evening!

Does one need to spend the entire 13 days at Philmont with your crew without
time for oneself? If not, any suggestions for ways to schedule "alone time"
for Scouts and advisors on the trail?
