Re: [Philmont]: Fuel options question

We had 10 eaters, 2 Coleman Apex stoves and used the medium size spun alum. bottles (sorry, I've had them so long I forgot the liquid cap.). There are 3 sizes, little ones, medium and the long tall ones. We didn't use Philmonts cooking method, we just boiled water, added to bags with the dry stuff inside and had plenty of water for washing and rinsing.

White gas and Power Max cannisters were the only choices in '05 on the trail. With 10 in our crew I don't think we used more than 3 bottles of white gas, we only cooked 9 meals - had 1 chuck wagon supper.
