The Short answer is one 8qt pot will do, it served the needs of a crew of 12
(plus a ranger) in '04 and '06 but makes assumptions about the cooking
technique or method you will use, fodder for several more threads.
The long answer is more complicated ... your question can't be answered
precisely because of what we don't know .... that is what the 2007 menu will
be. The other factor is if you are going for one pot or not, as some
evening entrees will have multiple items which you may choose to cook
independently or together ... nothing quite like hawaiian chicken and garlic
mashed potatoes ... or mexican beef and green beans ... if memory serves
from 2006 the worst case entree is 2 1/2 cups plus a 1 cup side, so 3 1/2
cups times 6 (for a crew of 12) would be the answer, then there is the bulk
of the food itself ... its tight but adequate.

If you put all the entrée packages in one pot for dinner for 12, what’s
the most number of cups of water that would be called for in the
instructions? (Please don’t hijack this thread down the path that it’s best
not to put all the water called for in the pot; we know that. We also don’t
need to know which specific dinner requires the most cups of water. We just
need your best, educated guess about how many cups would be called for at
the most, per the instructions. We’re doing a pot-size analysis.)
