Don,

I can think of two very good reasons for you to loose ten pounds. No, try
loosing thirty.

First, your health. That type of activity and overweight is like a lawyer
representing himself in court. A time bomb ticking.

Second, when your son turns 14, you WILL want to do a real meal deal trek.

I went as a 14 year old Scout in 1959 and just got back from accompanying my
15 year old daughter across Mt. Phillips which I also hiked in 1959. I can't
describe the feeling I experienced while huggign her up there.

Just loose the weight and make the trek. The "other side" of the ranch is a
lot different than PTC. Try it, you'll like it.
