any thoughts and suggestions about items to purchase at philmont and the
approximate cost. is film available at a reasonable price or should you
make sure you bring enough?

Obviously, what you want as souvenirs is highly individual. I think we must
have spent nearly $300 on *stuff* at TOTT.

As to film, I have an APS camera, and I ran out of film while there. The
usual price I pay for a roll of APS film is between $3 and $4.50, depending
where I get it. The same film was $7 at TOTT. The Philmont branded shorts,
the ones all the staff members wear, were $35. Zipoffs were $67.

Somethings were reasonably priced, others were quite high. I'd try to bring
what I could to avoid buying ordinary supplies while there.

As to what *to* purchase, like I said, that is up to personal taste. We got
a set of matching t-shirts (we actually have a need for that), patches
belts, buckles, a nalgene (Philmont branded), some carabiners, we even
bought a Philmont afghan. Hackey sacks for the kids, etc.

What TOTT needs to add to its line of products, however, is a Philmont
branded antenna ball!

Shelly, if you are still reading this list (that is if you aren't busy
delivering your baby), take note!
