I currently weight 240 (5'11"). I have, in recent years, been down to 185.
I didn't like it, and was quite satisfied to allow my weight to go back up
(though law school helped). While my weight was down, I didn't feel better,
I couldn't do more things, I didn't have more energy. About the only
difference was I perspired less. I feel fine, and I'm fat, dumb and happy
:-)
