A recent member of the NCAC contingent was unable to get their blood
pressure down and was not allowed on the trail. They take this stuff
seriously. I am in good shape and exercised regularly for over 6 months to
prepare and wish I had done more. We did Mt. Phillips with packs and Trail
Peak the hard way. These trails are no picnic. With 5 days of food and
extra water due to dry conditions, Philmont is a real challenge. Take the
limits seriously and get in shape.
