Fellow Scouters, I regret to inform you that Don Oblander, the Relationships
Director of the BSA, died of a heart attack on Sunday after returning from
Philmont. Needless to say, everyone is in shock over the loss of Don
Oblander. Those who wish to honor Don's memory may do so as follows:

 1. A memorial service will be held at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist
Church, 6101 Morriss Road, Flower Mount, Texas on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at
2:00 pm.

 2. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 521
North Main Street, Eureka, Kansas on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 2:00 pm

 3. The family asks that you do not send an flower arrangements. In lieu
of flowers, you are asked to make a donation either to Trietsch Memorial
United Methodist Church or to the Hafer Chaplaincy Fund of the BSA. The
Hafer Fund is used to subsidize the chaplains at Philmont.
The monies should be sent to :

 Religious Relationships Division
 Boy Scouts Of America
 1325 West Walnut Hill Lane
 P.O. Box 152079
 Irving, Texas 75015-2079

It has been a privilege to know and work with Don over the past few years.
His death will leave a gaping hole in the Relationships Division. His
support for the BSA was always first rate. I will truly miss him.

 YiS,
 Jay L. Lenrow
Vice Chairman for Planned Giving, Baltimore Area Council
Council FOS Chairman, Baltimore Area Council
Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 18, Owings Mills, Maryland
Member, National Jewish Committee on Scouting
I used to be a Buffalo (NE IV-123) but will always be an Eagle (Class of
66)
