[Philmont]: GPS Accuracy

I am an F-16 Avionics mechanic and I get to turn on the real GPS with all
the bells an whistles. I have taken readings with my Garmin 12XL while
sitting in the pilots seat only to discover I have about a 60 foot error. I
have also used a friends Garmin Etrex Venture with WAAS technology and had
better results. On one occasion I had the exact same readings as the
aircraft, on another day in a different location I had a 6 foot error. If
anyone is looking for a GPS model to buy I recommend getting the newer
technology WAAS units.
