[Philmont]: We're Off

Well it's my turn to say good-bye and sign off the list (else my notes will
kick back). But before I do, I want to thank everyone for all the good
hints, tips and information I've gained from this list. You guys have all
kinds of great ideas and because of this, this "green horn" is at least
decently prepared. We head out Sunday with the Cherokee Area Council
Contingency filled with 9 great kids. In fact we couldn't have hand picked
a better crew. We were supposed to be headed for trek 17 so we'll be
re-routed, which is fine with us, because we just want to go!!! It's all
new and exciting to me. I can't decide if I'm going to frame my
arrowhead and hang it in my office, or wear it when I teach Leader Training
courses. Tough decision. Anyway, I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.
The treasure I hope to return with is a picture of my entire family on top
of Baldy or Mt. Phillips. To me, that would be the prize of a lifetime.
Anyway, thanks again to all who've added to this list. In case you are
wondering, it is being read and paid close attention to. So next time you
hear from me, I'll be a full fledged Philmont alumni. (I can't express how
excited I am. I can't believe it's finally here. All the pre-hikes behind
us.)
