In case some of you haven't discovered it, learnign the intricacies of GPS
use are very complex. If you think that you have it mastered and have only
been at it a year or two, think again, you just haven't been there, done that
yet.

The more you get into it deeply, the more you learn. I have told many people
this only to have them guffaw me. They always come back a year or so later
saying "I think I see what you were talking about now".

Keep after it and at some point down the road you will understand it's
strengths and weaknesses. When dealing with three dimensional geometry,
there are so many variables it is mind boggling. And to top that off, the
earth is a dynamic feature meaning it is constantly moving. We are assuming
it is not moving. Think about that one for a while.

And I did not even mention the expansion and contraction of the spheriod
earth due to the heating and cooling cycles of daytime and nightime.

And that is just part of the reason the NASA budget is large.

Complex isn't it? And you want it in a pocket sized instrument that runs for
several days on two AA batteries?
