I'm not sure on this. I do know that food in the regular dining hall which
feeds trail bound and home bound crews is pretty bland. Good, but bland. I
have no complaints because it is good, it it nourishing and it is served
quickly allowing one to get on with the other tasks. The food at home bound
times wa a little better. All is high carbo which is great.
I've never eaten in the staff dining hall, but I understand it is a lot
better which it should be since they have to eat there daily for 3-4 months.
And you are correct about sumer camps, there is a happy medium. Also a
friend who was a ranger says the same about Philmont. Too early and they
don't have a clue to what they are doing. Too late and they are burned out.
