No, he had been on some shakedowns with us before. No problems,
although he had kind of a know-it-all attitude. That's why his behavior
surprised me so much.
One poster stated that he would have sent him back to base camp
after his tirade. If Shaeffer's hadn't been unstaffed, he probably would have.
But, the Scouts lost all respect for him after that episode and
even though two Scouts, including his son, were members of his Troop, I've
seen how this works. Word will get back to his Troop and he will have lost
a lot of respect in his own Scouts' eyes, as well. Scouts do talk and his
helping of crow is just starting.
I've learned a valuable lesson and his "punishment" (not to
mention the dose he has/got from his wife) is just beginning. I won't have
to say a word.
