Philpholks-

Been scrolling through digests of the list. Just returned from PTC. I attended the closing campfire on the camping side one night with my son. He is on Conservation Staff this summer. It was a real kick to have crews that recognized him come up and start talking enthusiastically (sp?) about working on their Conservation project.

The closing campfire was a real kick. Much better than the one I attended as an Advisor in '98. The skits were great. I particularly enjoyed the Attack of the Mini Bears skit. I was howling. I didn't catch the singers name, but he played the guitar and sang very well. A retired Navy pilot who flew with Sen. John McCain spoke about a POW making a US flag out of rags, being caught, tortured, and making another. Very well told and inspiring. Closing was an audio-visual of slides of the ranch with music and finally some old movie footage of a Troop from Minnesota doing a Trek or its equivalent in 1941. It was a great campfire. IWTGBTP.
