Coleman will sell directly to scouts. You must contact them to get a access
number for the Youth Camping Program link at www.coleman.com The Xtreme
costs $44.25 and the Xpert is $35.75. They will also discount products in
their factory oulet stores if you identify your self as a scouter. ( At
least the one I go to in Texas will.)

I used Xtreme in 2000. I used 6 bottles. We could only use one stove at a
time because the fire restrictions forced us to put the stove IN THE FIRE
RING. Would have used 9-10 if I burned two stoves. We used fuel conserving
methods mentioned by Wally and Coop in their Advisor's Guide.

Thanks for the report RKTUCK. I'd been wondering how to calculate PowerMax
canister usage for our trip.
Karl, our crew will also be using Coleman Extreme stoves, the Xtreme model.
We purchased them based on recommendations on this list last spring and we
luv 'em. They are great little stoves, available from Campmor.com for
$59.97.

I used the Coleman Extreme stove. It performed great. The high heat output
(as compared to our Coleman Apex II's) allowed water to boil mush faster.
The fuel is available at the trading posts. I think that the cost was $4.75
per canister. One canister lasts for 70 minutes burn time at full load. We
got 2 meals out of that. We also used it in the mornings for coffee.
