I have a hard time imagining a use for a 2.25 gal one.
Repackaging food?
By the way, I've got some folks (we're going in 2004) whose packs
I think might be a bit small. To help convince them to purchase a
new, larger pack, can someone give an approximation to the max volume
of food that each person will have to carry? On those first days after
leaving a commissary, when each one is carrying 4 days worth of food,
how much volume is that?
Is each person's share of one day of food approximately one of the
2.25 gal ziplocs?
(One thing we will probably never do on a training trek is carry as much
food as we will have when we leave Philmont basecamp.)
