Another use for 1/8" cord is stringing a clothesline inside your tent if you
end up with one of those treks with more liquid than golden sunshine.
The PHilmont tents have a small tab at the top inside the door and at the
top by the back window. Run your cord down the middle, make a taughtline at
each end so you can adjust the tension on the cord, and you have a nice
clothesline that is out of the rain, at least for a few hours each day. I
discovered this on one PHilmont trek out of necessity. Several of my
backpacking tents have nothing like that.
