Our troop has an ongoing "soap opera" called "As The Toilet Turns." We have
an old toilet seat that we use to introduce the feature. The boys all get a
big kick out of it because it's a role play in which the adult staff teaches
all kinds of things, one of which is proper use of the latrine. We even
teach how to use the "Wand of Wonder," which is basically a stick that is
used to clear out cobwebs, insects and other scary things from the latrine.
A little duct tape on one end gives the wand seemingly mystical properties
and ensures that the Scouts will grab it by the uncontaminated end.

The boys all enjoy the feature and respond to the question, "What time is
it?" with "It's time for 'As The Toilet Turns!' "

You can make anything fun and educational if you try. And besides, talking
about pooping is just the kind of thing young boys get a kick out of. Might
as well turn it to your advantage.
