My daughter, who is on staff at Philmont, mentioned this last time she
called home. The ranch is called the Double H. It's southwest of
Albuquerque. Apparently the owner died last year and left the ranch to the
Rocky Mountain Elk Association with the stipulation that the association
share the property with a youth organization. The ranch's web page is here:

I don't know any more than that but will share anything I do hear.
