Just returned from participating in a great course during relationships weeks
at PTC. One of our chaplains who taught one of the sessions asked us to pray
for four backcountry heart attack victims, two of whom apparently did not
survive.
PTC had its own problems. Early in the week we were told repeatedly to drink
more water as apparently a few of the course participants were falling ill.
That was the official refrain all week. Later in the week there were numerous
cases of vomiting, diarrhea and fever. Most of the ill were males including some
young boys. When I left on Saturday afternoon, there were Philmont staff
members everywhere disinfecting all conference rooms, latrines, and most of the
tents in South Tent City.
