We had two crews that used the Xpert stoves and both used 3 full
canisters and part of a 4th. We did not use them in the mornings except
when the breakfast had oatmeal or cream of wheat. Also, we only cooked
8 dinners as we had a chuck wagon at Beaubien and a Mexican dinner at
Abreu. In 2001 we used more fuel, but the food then required simmering.
Now all you do is bring water to a boil.

Subject: [Philmont]: Powermax fuel consumption
Will someone who has used the Coleman Xpert or Xpedition stove on Trek
let me know how many Powermax fuel cannisters (10.6 oz) you used for
your Trek. Also how many in your crew and is that the only stove you
used.
thanks..
