There will always be those who find something wrong with Philmont. It is
amazing, even on this list. After all the discussions and preparation, people
come back and the only thing they can talk about are the things that they
perceived were wrong. They are also the ones who leave detailed written
evaluations, with no word of thanks or praise for the staff. Unfortunately, Philmont
responds to these evaluations as they modify their backcountry protocols.
I sure would like to hear more about the amazing experiences that happened on
the trail; how young men and women came together as a crew and finished
together as a crew.
