[Philmont]: Transportation to Philmont

As mentioned in a previous post -
Blue Sky Adventures is arranging transportation via Albuquerque for Philmont
bound crews

Leading the Way Tours is arranging transportation via Colorado Springs for
Philmont bound crews. Christine is very knowledgeable having helped Scouts
to Philmont for many years and is doing an excellent job. Our council
contingent used Leading the Way Tours this year (2003). They are on the
trail right now (717H 1-6), so it will be a while until they can report.
Detroit Area Council used Leading the Way Tours, also. Is there list member
from Detroit who can report on their experience? Christine Emrick is the
owner, she can be reached at 866-696-5073. Her E-mail is
leadingthewaytours@sbcglobal.net . She does not have a web site, yet. She
helped me with arrangements in Colorado Springs this year and I met some of
her staff and she really has dynamic group helping her. As council
contingent coordinator for 2004, I am planning on using Leading the Way
Tours.

We are in the preliminary planning for our 2004 council contingent. As we
are coming from Florida, we will be arriving by air. In prior years, we had
used Adventure Trails for our pre-trek travels. They appear to out of
business as their phone is now answered by "The Transportation Office".
Are these the same people? Any recommendations? Would it be better to fly
into Albuquerque or Colorado Springs? We would look to have some pre-trek
tours. We will be taking 3 crews.
