RE: [Philmont]: Trek #2 and 11

We did Trek 8, cooked in turkey bags most of the time. We burned white gas using 1 whisperlite stove per night (we took two on the trail). Fuel costs .05 per ounce at the base. All total, we burned less than 2 liters of fuel (we took 2, 1 liter bottles and refilled 1 of them at Baldy Camp on day 7 but probably could have gotten away without doing so - we ended up giving over a liter back when we got back to base camp). Price at Baldy Camp was the same or cheaper I seem to recall only paying a dollar for a bottle of white gas there.

Subject: [Philmont]: Trek #2 and 11

We have two crews arriving in a three weeks (7/24). Any information on trek #'s 2 and 11 would be appreciated.

Also any information on number of fuel bottles, how much fuel consumed, cost of fuel would be helpful. Our crews have a mixture of MSR WhisperLites and Colemen 400 / 442 stoves, all using white gas. I can not find my notes from '98 so I have no reference on how much fuel we carried / purchased while on the trail.
