RE: [Philmont]: Camera Battery Charging

I had the same worry and spent the money for an extra battery. I also turned off the flash and the LCD display. As it turns out, 1 1200 mAhr battery in my Canon Powershot camera lasted the entire trip (it finally died as I was uploading ~400 pictures to my PC when I got home).
