It is not quite first come/first serve. Priority is given to any Crews
who missed out the previous day due to weather or crowding, who still
want to do the program before hiking on. After that, those Crews who
have the program as a scheduled activity on their itinerary sheet
(whether a resident Crew or a pass-through Crew), will have priority
over those who do not have the program scheduled, and are passing by
hoping for a free slot. I agree that the staff is highly accommodating,
and most Crews who want to do a program will be able to - but it is no
sure thing.
