RE: [Philmont]: cold weather gear

I have hiked Philmont twice in Aug and was very glad I had my
fleece................especially last year when my crew was almost washed
off of Commache Peak in a rain storm/flood.

Also, I always use my long underwear top and pants for my sleeping
clothes............figure I can use them for cold weather layering IF I had
to.........I have a thin pair of poly knit gloves too.
NOT much weight, but worth their weight in GOLD when needed.

At the very least, no matter what month of the summer, a FLeece top and knit
cap should be packed........BE Prepared. Scout leaders must insist on these
items for the safety of the entire crew.
