I waffled between really lightweight sneakers or Tevas..... for quite some
time.
I wound up taking the sneakers but thought they took up too much precious
room in my pack. The Scouts in my crew who took Tevas said they'd bring
sneakers next time. In their opinion there just weren't very many camps that
had flat enough ground for sandals to be comfortable.
My take..... there isn't a perfect answer for camp shoes, especially if you
are going rock climbing. Take whatever you have in the closet that you can
live with and enjoy the trip!!! It will be wonderful no matter what camp
shoes you have.
Happy Trails!!

Going to Philmont in 13 days. Still don't know what camp shoes might be the
best. Any suggestions? My budget is about shot with equiping 2 boys and
myself. Weight and space is an issue. Durability I know is also a
necessity. Aqua shoes are light and compactible, low cost, but are they
feasible walking around the camp? Several boys also are trying to decide
what to bring. Thanks for any input.
