I agree with all that has been said about electronics here. Having said
that, if anyone has any knowledge of the repeaters, frequencies and tones
used at Philmont, I'd be interested in knowing. Feel free to email me
direct so that the rest of the non-ham group don't have to follow this. If
anyone has any knowledge about Philmont's view of the use of HT's on the
trail for any reason, I'd be interested.

Philmont has a system for knowing and planning for each activity. This is
routinely communicated daily via the radio net. The problem is crews who
"drop-in". It is very important to stick to your itinerary.
