Russ - this topic was the subject of a fairly extensive thread either
last year or the year before that. One of the comments made at the time
by actual Philmont staff on the list is that the Ranch takes a very dim
view of trekkers either eavesdropping on the Ranch "net", or trying to
communicate with the Staff using their net. You may wish to call
Philmont direct to get a more definitive ruling on this, before
proceeding any further.
