Russ,

If you get an answer please let the Boy Scout Amateurs know.

I don't understand why you are getting responses about the "Ranch Net".
That does not have anything to do with Amateur Radio!!! Neither does
communicating on their "business band" licensed radios. Any Amateur Radio
operator already knows that is against the law.

I did ask the question today when I called Philmont. They DO NOT monitor
any "Emergency Frequencies" I would hope that the Amateur Radio community
out there in NM picks up the slack and "is prepared" to assist if there is
an emergency. Sending off 2 people to hike to the nearest staff camp in an
emergency and in the middle of the night does NOT sound like the best option
to me. Then there are those who will tell you to use your cell phone. They
are great as long as you are in range!!!

The following freq. look like they are in the area:

        145.45-, 146.64-, 147.24+ 147.38+, 449.325+

Thanks,
Gary Mauler
