While at the Clarks Fork Stew Dinner, after eating my fill, I took a look
around at the various types of bowls and cups used as bowls. There was a
vast array of colors, designs, sizes and materials, all with happy, full
trekkers attached.
My observastions were:
1) folks with smallish cups (like the small size Sierra cup) didn't get a
very large serving :( and tended to drop food as they walked around with
their cup piled high with buscuit
2) folks who used cups instead of bowls generally had trouble avoiding
spillage when using the large serving spoons to fill their cup :(
3) folks with steel cups/bowls tended to use a cloth insulator or carried
the bowl by the edges to avoid holding the heat :(
but the bottom line is almost anything will work, even a plastic bag corner
from a food packet. I was happy with a Target lexan bowl & spoon. It was
large enough to get a good sized portion without spilling, easy to fill with
a serving spoon, easy to stomach sump and conducts less heat than steel.
Others were equally happy with their Tupperware bowls or teflon-coated
skillets or small Sierra cups.
Enjoy!!
