Most of my scouts and I have used the ZipLock bowls that come with the blue lids.
I like the round, I think 4 cup. I take two that total a whole oz for the pair.
If you nest them you have an insultaded bowl that helps keep food hot and doesn't burn your hand. you also have a clean one for desert, just swap and pue the dirty one on the bottom. After two trecks we haven't had any failures.
