Scott Calkins asked how to get the 7 more hours of trail conservation work needed for the 50-Miler Award.
We have done it at home, at our local council camp - they are ALWAYS looking for stuff to be done.
In 2000, we did it after returning from Philmont. That was a council contingent, and no, not all of the boys attended and not all of them got the 50-Miler.
This year, we all did our 7 hours before going to Philmont (well, all but me - I was busy that day and already have 50-Miler)- we will have purchased the patches before going to Philmont and will take them with us, and will present them to our boys during/after the closing Philmont campfire.
