How strict is Philmont on the weight restrictions?
I have a 47 y.o. adult on my crew who is currently 5 pounds over the maximum limit. He has been training and working out, but just can't seem to drop the last 5 pounds.
I have cautioned him about this since last fall when we began our training hikes. I have other adults on the crew, so we're OK from that perspective. However it would devastate his son, which would not be good for the crew as a whole.
Any input would be appreciated. We arrive on Saturday!
